A good mattress topper does one of two jobs: it adds pressure relief to a bed that feels too hard, or it adds support to a bed that has gone soft. Start with the material. What thickness mattress topper should I buy?
Choose 2 inches if your mattress is close to right and you want a softer surface layer. Choose 3 inches for noticeable pressure relief on a firm bed; it is our most popular thickness. Choose 4 inches if the mattress is very firm, worn, or you sleep on your side and carry more weight through your hips and shoulders.
Are LOUNJ mattress toppers made in the USA?
Yes. Every LOUNJ topper is poured, cut, and packaged in our own foam factory in Phoenix, Arizona. We do not import finished foam or resell another factory's product. Making it ourselves is why we can sell factory direct without a middleman markup and stand behind every topper with a 5-year warranty.
Do memory foam toppers sleep hot?
Traditional closed-cell memory foam can trap heat. LOUNJ uses gel-infused open-cell memory foam that lets air move through the topper and pulls warmth away from your body. If you are an especially warm sleeper, Talalay latex is the coolest option we make because it is naturally open-cell and buoyant rather than heat-absorbing.
How long does a compressed topper take to expand?
Toppers ship rolled and compressed to keep shipping free and fast. Unbox it, unroll it on the mattress, and give it 24 to 48 hours to fully decompress. Most of the expansion happens within the first few hours. Any faint new-foam smell fades quickly; our foam is sun-baked in Arizona before it ships, so odor is minimal.
Will a topper fix a sagging mattress?
A topper can hide a mild dip and make an older bed comfortable again, especially the 3 inch Firm Mattress Topper or the 4 inch Gel Mattress Topper. It cannot repair a broken frame or a deep trench in the springs. If you can feel the sag through a 4 inch topper, it is time to replace the mattress.
