Better foam, better sleep

At LOUNJ, we believe memory foam should be safer, higher quality, and made right here in the USA, without the premium price tag. That one idea is the reason our factory exists. We pour our own foam, cut it, cover it, and ship it straight to your door, so you get a better product than the big brands offer and you pay less for it, because there is no one in the middle.

Who we are

LOUNJ Bedding was founded in 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona, by Nat Holfeltz, a 15-year bedding industry veteran who had seen the inside of the business and did not like what he found. Most memory foam sold in the US is cheaply made overseas, filled with unknown chemicals, and marked up several times before it reaches a bedroom. He started LOUNJ to do it differently: a family-owned factory that makes what it sells and answers the phone when you call.

We are still that company. When you order a topper, a pillow, or a bag of foam fill, it is made by our team in Phoenix and quality-checked before it ships. When you call (800) 556-1333, you reach a real person in Arizona who knows the products because they help make them.

The problem with cheap imports

The foam industry is flooded with cheap imports, mainly from China, where quality control is inconsistent, safety regulations are weak, and the foam itself can be potentially toxic over time. Shoppers end up with:

• Low quality products that flatten in a season or two
• Foams made with questionable chemicals and fire-retardant sprays
• Inconsistent durability and comfort from one piece to the next
• No way to find out who actually made the foam or what is in it

How we make it in Phoenix

Most bedding brands buy foam from someone else and put their name on it. We do not. Here is what happens in our factory:

• We source the chemistry ourselves and pour our own gel-infused, open-cell memory foam using water-based processes that keep VOCs and off-gassing low.
• We let it sun-bake. Arizona heat cures and airs our foam, which is why LOUNJ products have so little odor out of the box.
• We cut every piece in-house, from standard twin through California king to twelve RV sizes and custom rectangles in half inch increments.
• We sew and cover here too. Our washable topper covers and pillow covers are sewn in Phoenix.
• We check it before it ships. Every topper, pillow, and mattress is inspected, then compressed and boxed for FedEx Ground.

Because we control every step, the density, feel, and quality are consistent from one order to the next. That is something you simply cannot promise when the foam comes from a container ship.
